My water heater had a small gas leak. I called two different plumbers in the city - both did NOT want to fix the issue, but rather wanted to replace the water heater, a cost of around $2700 total. Both other plumbers stated that they could not fix it, or attempted, as they both mentioned that it was as an old unit. I proceeded in contacting Union Plumbing. Brian the technician explained everything in detail, and stated that it could be fixed, rather than having to spend lots of $$! He fixed the leak and explained to me as to why the other plumbers wanted to "upsell" their services. I believed his word, as he stated that he had many years doing this type of work. He was honest, proficient, and very professional. I also asked him for a "guesstimate" to change a kitchen faucet. What he quoted me was about $200 less than what a plumber I paid to replace the faucet. ALWAYS, get a second or third opinion/quote - and don't fall into the trap that they can do it for a "cheap" price!! Thank you Union Plumbing (UP)- I will now have my future plumbing repairs done by UP. On a note: my actual name is different than this Google account! In case you want to reference who I am. We had a sewer issue at our property and contacted this company for a second opinion after receiving a very large repair estimate from another plumbing company. Their technician took the time to properly inspect the system and quickly identified that the real problem was simply a failed sewage pump in the lift station. They replaced the pump and installed a check valve, and everything was resolved the same day. The total cost was about $1,259, which was a huge relief compared to the unnecessary excavation work that had been suggested by the previous company. We really appreciated their honesty, professionalism, and clear explanation of what was actually wrong. It’s hard to find contractors who take the time to diagnose the problem correctly instead of recommending expensive repairs right away.
